Yulia Iosilzon (b. 1992) lives and works in London. She received her BA from Slade School of Fine Art, UCL, in 2017, and completed her MA in Painting from The Royal College of Art in 2019.
Yulia’s practice draws on children’s illustrations, fashion and theatre to create nostalgic, fantasy filled works. Mainly painting on silk, there is a lightness and delicacy to her paintings which contrasts to the deep subject matters her work explores.
Recent solo exhibitions include; at The Columbia Hotel in partnership with Roman Road Gallery (2020); Paradeisos, Carvalho Park, New York (2019); Visions, Triumph Gallery, Moscow, Russia (2019). Yulia was awarded the Audrey Wykeham Prize and Bloomberg New Contemporaries prize in 2019.
