Raw Earth, Rare Earth is a striking solo exhibition by by Polish artist Alicja Biała which will be transforming the Berntson Bhattacharjee gallery in Fitzrovia from Thursday, September 18. The space will become a garden of Biala’s compelling artworks, including a powerful piece commissioned by the Polish Prime Minister, as well as delicate flower motifs etched into brass, twisting root sculptures suspended from the ceiling and smaller bronze sculptures of rare hyperaccumulator plants, which appear to grow out of the walls.
This exhibition invites you to reflect on our relationship with the environment and its future, while exploring themes of cultural identity, geological history and migration.
