This International Women’s Day Berntson Bhattacharjee is raising money for Women’s Aid. Together with Wells Fray-Smith, Assistant Curator at Whitechapel Gallery, Berntson Bhattacharjee have curated an auction with 30 fantastic emerging contemporary artists.
The auction is a collaboration with The Auction Hub and Auctionet. It will go live on 8th March to coincide with International Women’s Day, and continue for 10 days until 18th March.
Through the generosity of the artists the auction offers a mix of paintings, works on paper and sculpture. The artists have been carefully selected by the curators, hailing from top residencies and institutions and representing the best of the up and coming art scene. This auction offers an exciting opportunity to purchase their works outside a gallery space.
Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. Over the past 47 years, Women’s Aid has been at the forefront of shaping and coordinating responses to domestic abuse through practice, research and policy. They empower survivors by keeping their voices at the heart of their work, working with and for women and children by listening to them and responding to their needs. Domestic abuse has only worsened due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with 61% of women living with their abusers reporting an increase in the abuse. They are in desperate need of funding to continue their important work. To find out more about this incredible organisation click HERE.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support Women’s Aid’s mission as well as discover and invest in artworks by the next generation of stars. Let’s bid!
A huge thank you to Auctionet, The Auction Hub, Wells Fray-Smith, Women’s Aid, Ding Studio, NKT Studio, Sloane Stanley, and of course all the wonderful artists who have made this initiative possible.
