Bea Bonafini b. 1990

Bea Bonafini (b. 1990) is an artist based between London, Rome and Paris. She received a Foundation in Art & Design 2010 at Chelsea College of Art & Design. In 2014 she completed her BA in Fine Art at Slade School of Fine Art and in 2016 she received her MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, London. 

 

Bea’s installations are openings to encounters between the earthly and the otherworldly, balancing between figurative and abstraction. She works with a range of techniques bridging painting, sculpture, textile and ceramics. In doing this she explores the relationship between the textures, ideas and forms. 

 

Solo exhibitions include: 'Unearthly' at Nosbaum Reding in Luxembourg (2022); 'Animals of Your Lips' at Bosse & Baum in London (2022); 'IL CHIOSTRO ANIMATO' at Museo di Roma in Trastevere (2022); 'A Monstrous Fruit' at Setareh Gallery in Berlin (2022); 'Ghosts for a Post-Modern Tale' at LAAA (Laboratorio de Arte, Arquitectura y Arqueología) in Mexico City (2022). Group exhibitions include: 'Al Dente: A Feast for the Senses' curated by Edoardo Monti at Berntson Bhattacharjee in London (2023); 'Artocène in Chamonix' (2023); Benaki Museum Auction in Athens (2023); Art Düsseldorf at Setareh Gallery in Düsseldorf (2023); 'WITHIN + WITHOUT' at Unit London (2023); The Armoury Show with Setareh Gallery in New York (2023). Residencies include: Palazzo Monti in Brescia (2021); Rosa Lee Travel Grant, British School in Rome (2020); Abbey Scholarship, British School in Rome (2019-20).
